"The Three Questions" based on a story by Leo Tolstoy

As we look back at 2007 and ahead to 2008, please remember the story "The Three Questions" that we read in reading class the week before Christmas. The main character in the story, Nikolai, is uncertain about the right way to act, he says "I want to be a good person, but I don't always know the best way to do that." He wants to find the answers to his three questions:

1. When is the best time to do things?
2. Who is the most important one?
3. What is the right thing to do?

Through his travels he does find the answers to his questions:

"Remember then that there is only one important time, and that time is now. The most important one is always the one you are with. And the most important thing is to do good for the one who is standing at your side."

Thank you Club Hope members for all the good things you have done this year for yourself, your families, your school, your community, and the world. We have an exciting year ahead of us when we get back to school in 2008. Rest up, enjoy the rest of your vacation, and come back to school ready to "make the world better, one day at a time!"

Love, Mrs. S.
